General Information about the State Band Clinic:
Every Band Director in the state of Mississippi is allowed to nominate 8
of his/her most deserving students. The Mississippi Bandmaster's
Association then chooses 2-3 from that list to be selected for the State
Band Clinic in Tupelo. The selected students meet in Tupelo on
Wednesday or Thursday, audition for one of four bands, practice for 2
days, and then have a big concert on Saturday. The band conductors
are specially chosen for this event to give the students an experience
working with a very fine conductor and/or composer of band music.
